Changing Westport one garden at a time?
Our interest in edible gardens all started when Westport GVI co-sponsored the amazing Amy Kalafa's Edible School Garden Workshop at the Unitarian Church over a year ago.
One of our main strategies to support the Local Food Movement is to support
the growth of local edible gardens.
Last
year we installed the first
garden at Staples High School.
Construction at the Westport Senior Center was completed
early this summer. (See photo above) And hope for the rest of summer to
install gardens at
Earthplace, Sherwood Island Nature Center, Westport Historical Society, Marina Village Community Garden in Brigdeport—and possibly
other sites around town.
If you are involved with an organization in Westport that
has interest/space for a garden and you would
